A great place for tech news, benchmarks, whatever else. "Tom's Hardware Guide delivers hard-hitting
articles and reports to tech-savvy IT professionals,
technology innovators and early adopters looking to
buy PC hardware products and services."

Another great place for tech news and benchmarks. I
tend to use them in comparison to Tom's Hardware. Tom's
does more network related articles and Anandtech runs
these cool example systems every month or so. "
Welcome to AnandTech, the leading IT source for hardware
analysis and industry news."

A more news-driven web site X-bit still
features extensive articles once in a while about anything
from games to hardware to new technologies to the latest
LAN parties. They'll always have new news headlines
daily, if you like to stay on top of things. "X-bit
labs is an English-language Internet-site focusing on
PC hardware. We offer a constantly updated news wire
alongside with detailed reviews of the newest products.
We aim to keep our readers not only constantly aware
of the most recent events and news of the computer hardware
world, but also to provide in-depth info on many acute
topics dealing with PC hardware trends and technologies.
Please bear in mind that we do not restrict ourselves
to quoting facts, but try to use all our knowledge and
experience to provide some analysis and make some forecasts.
However, you shouldn't be concerned about us sometimes
expressing our personal opinion, because all the members
of our team are highly experienced hardware engineers
and analysts."

A more underground web site for technology enthusiasts.
You can find cool guides for tweaking windows, overclocking
and more. They also do up-close and personal reviews
on various computer and computer related hardware component.
Once in a while they even have special news on new technologies
like BTX. I really like this place - updates come every
few days or so.

A web site that's got a great set predictive outlines
for what's up and coming in the next year or so for
technology. Also has some handy price records for processors,
etc... just in general a nice site to check out when
technology was released and when it will likely be released.

These guys tend to have the jump on all of the rumors
and news out there in the technology world - headlines
made for people into computer hardware and software
with a bit of comedic bais from the authors. If nothing
else the site is entertaining, even if the news there
is often unconfirmed.
Doom9.org

A great resource for everything having to do with video
encoding, ripping, conversion, whatever. This is the
place that I've used as a guide for making DVD's out
of Orange County Episodes or as a tutoring schematic
for ripping DVD's, etc... really if you're in the business
of working heavy-duty style of audio and video, check
it out!
Slashdot

An excellent source of technology news having to do
with virtually anything, with a special eye kept to
open-source related issues. Good to check out once in
a while, the site has forum discussions on each topic
posted.
NewEgg.com
The number one place to buy computer and computer related
parts online, or anywhere, period. Best prices, ridiculously
good service and a 1 year replacement warranty (that's
even extendable!) on anything you buy here. These guys
are awesome, I've bought literally thousands of dollars
worth of material from them. If you're in the market
for computer building or upgrading, check these guys
out!
ZipZoomFly.com

A close second to NewEgg ZipZoom sometimes has better
prices on various tech items. Their warranty system
isn't quite as good, but sometimes you can find things
here that aren't available at NewEgg, or for a few dollars
less. Often a reasonably good alternative.
PriceWatch

A great place to find bargain prices on all sorts of
technology items. I strongly suggest you cross reference
the sellers you find here with the next entry...
Resellerratings.com

A third party web site dedicated to rating online vendors
- specifically technology items. They do a great job
of letting people put in reviews and evaluate all sorts
of different aspects of a company's service.

The makers of Sandra - one of the best computer analysis
and benchmarking programs out there. Sandra can be used
to do anything from intensively stress test and evaluate
system performance to tell you what exact hardware you
have in your machine. I consider it an essential for
any users interested in their machine.
Futuremark.com

The makers of a number of various synthetic benchmarking
programs, I continually use their software as a reference
for testing. If you're interested in benchmarking, check
this place out and see how you stack up!
Aquamark

Aquanox is a game... that's relatively cool, but what's
more useful is the Aquamark benchmark that uses material
from the game to test all sorts of aspects of how your
computer graphics perform. After futuremark's texture
debacle this has become the household standard benchmarking
program for graphics.
